Imagine a youngish woman (a female Indiana Jones) with a sincere desire, an addiction, for discovering the next long-lost civilization was made into an Action-Adventure movie by Spielberg. That movie would almost have to resemble this trilogy by Ryan Mullaney. Actually, Simone is even better fit for the role than was the character played by Harrison Ford...Now, on with my review…
POV: Third person. Third person works with this story but I almost wish the writer had tried telling it in first person. Although we do get to know Simone’s thoughts as it is conveyed to us, I think a certain intimacy has been lost. Just a thought.
BLUSH FACTOR: I got through the first book and hadn’t noticed any eff-words, but did a search and found a single use of this profanity. Other than this, I didn’t find any reason to not read this aloud to anybody with whom one might want to share a vibrant, dynamic, female hero with the world. I almost feel that being too precise about the location of that eff-word would be something of a spoiler. Suffice it to state that it comes in the third novel in the series.
WRITING & EDITING: The only serious point, I don’t want to say criticism, because if I had written this, I would be confident that it was better than any writing I could ever hope to accomplish, but there are times when the author slips in information rather than attempting to paint us a picture. I’m probably over-stating what I mean, so, again, don’t take it as a criticism, but as incidental observation.
This Action-Adventure was as fun for me to read as just about any book in this genre I’ve come across over the last two or three years.
CLIFFHANGER ENDING: No, because you’re getting all three books in the series. In that sense, this is a stand-alone. Well, not exactly. There IS a fourth story coming, but book three doesn’t end with a cliffhanger, per se, but with a hint of more to come.
BOTTOM LINE
Four stars out of five. The heroine is just a bit too perfect, and, outside of the action scenes, there’s just a tad too much data dump for me. Call it 4.49 stars if you like. Either way, I WILL be reading book 4.

The Treasure Huntress Archaeological Action Adventure Series Books 13 The Treasure Huntress Box Set Book 1 edition by Ryan Mullaney Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Love the stories. When is book 4 coming out?
Independent , athletic Simone searches for archeological artifacts to preserve for history for all to know. She prefers to go it alone, but in each case she finds she needs the help of others. A lesson for all of us in life.
I really love this series. cannot wait for #4. Great combination of adventure, history, with a hint of supernatural and a womans journey to find herself. Well written. Definitely a must read.
You might feel a bit like Indiana Jones, running through the maze of a derelict temple with a giant boulder at your back while reading this box set. Although our protagonist could be most closely compared to Lara Croft, she's just as much brains as she is action star. This trilogy is face paced, but clever. And as a box set? Great value. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
The action, adventure, suspense is great. I like Simone although I don't really understand the constant need for self medication?? Have read the first 3 books and am eagerly awaiting Book 4. Love the series!
I have so much love for this series! Simone is an amazing protagonist, brave and skilled, and the adventures she goes on always leave me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. She doesn’t come out unscathed, neither physically nor emotionally, and I’m looking forward to more in this series to watch asinine develop!
This three book series was everything an adventure story could be. For the reader who enjoys the mysteries of an archeological find and rush of good and evil battling.
The story was not enhanced at all with the cursing GD's. That is the reason for 3 stars and not 5.
