Reading this book at a book study. I love how she encourages you to use scripture in your prayers. Its as powerful as you make it.
I would recommend to any Christian who wants to be a prayer warrior! A good read for anyone who lacks confidence in prayer.
Mrs OMartian urges us use ALL the authority God gives us and sometimes steps on the verge of going too far.
But she has much that will incite us to be real prayer warriors in God's kingdom.
Amazing book. Really opened my eyes about the spiritual warfare going on and how Evangelical Christians can and should battle it.
Wonderful for my spiritual growth.
The author does a good job writing and weaving in personal stories as well.
I love this book. I purchased it for myself and use it as part of my devotions. There is a different prayer on each page, each dealing with a different aspect of one's spiritual life, along with an accompanying Bible verse. The artwork is lovely, so this would also make a lovely gift. I find Stormie's prayer books most helpful with my prayer life because she has thought of everything I need prayers for. I do one prayer each day along with other materials. I have also used her book about praying for my children as part of my devotions. She covers 30 different topics, so everything can be covered in one month...and then repeated each month. I used it for years as my kids were growing up. If you have not read her autobiography, I highly recommend it. It's called "Stormie." It will give you a deeper appreciation of her faith and prayer life.
I found this book to be so helpful in aiding my desire to become a better prayer. Ms. Stormie just doesn't give you prayers to repeat, she allows to be led by the Holy Spirit. Your prayers are your own heart felt prayers. After you have read the prayer that came from your heart, you feel fulfilled. I have the kindle version where I am able to record my prayers on the app with ease. I would recommend the book hard copy or app to a friend. I can really see my growth in the area of prayer. You will receive as much as you put into this book. If you put in as much as Ms. Stormie did, in her creation of this guide, you will not be dissatisfied.
This book builds well on her previous ones, as Stormie Omartian reveals more of her experiences and practices as a woman of prayer. The book is full of encouragement for others who would like to follow her example, as apprentices would. I especially like the twenty prayers at the end of the book, which incorporate scripture and practical wisdom. As someone who has been praying one prayer from The Power of a Praying Wife each day for the last three plus years, I am not disappointed. I read the version, but will buy the paper version so I can write in my own revisions and additions to the prayers as I use them.
